Dear Friends,
The wind of change first blew 21 years ago, when the idea to organize a First Congress for Persons with Disabilities was voiced in Berlin. Since 1998 thousands of persons attended various congresses in Europe, South America and Asia. These congresses became the starting point for a positive change in so many lives of people with special needs, their families and organizations. Here www.socialartist.events you can learn more about the worldwide congress movement. Since 2012 Thailand already hosted four congresses “Together we go”. Hundreds of young adults with special needs from different regions attended these impressing events. Now we would like to get the fifth Congress in Thailand to a higher level.
We cordially invite you to participate in the First Asian Congress for People with Special Needs to be held in Bangkok, on 1 – 4 July 2020. It will be hosted by the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, the oldest one in Thailand, which is located in the city heart. Bangkok is world's most visited city and offers a wide variety of attractions. This incredible metropolis will be an excellent venue for encounters and networking among persons from all around Asia who are living with diverse disabilities.
This Congress will be a social and cultural event with a focus on empowering and building cultural and interpersonal relations. It will center on people with special needs, their needs, and their roles in the society. One of the goals of the event are to present disability as a starting point for development of new human skills that today’s world needs so much and to give people with special needs an opportunity to play an active role in an inclusive society. Bangkok and the whole Asian region should learn about the diverse abilities which are supporting the further development of inclusive societies for all citizens. In that sense everybody is a seed of possibilities.
We would like to invite you to play an active role in the congress program. Therefore, we ask you to offer your own possibilities, skills and best practices in presentations, workshops and art performances. We also ask you to spread this invitation letter among your network since we would like to address persons from various Asian countries and backgrounds. Soon we will publish more details on the website: http://www.curativethailand.com or on Facebook CurativeThailand.
Join us and become a seed of possibilities! We are looking forward welcoming you in Bangkok next year.
